The Challenge

As Head of Product, my mission encompassed a full-scale redesign, strategic overhaul, and re-launch of Bright Trip's product. This initiative aimed to align the product with our business objectives while revamping the user experience. Parallel to this comprehensive product transformation, I led the development of analytics infrastructure and dashboards.

Company overview

Bright Trip is a video platform aimed at enriching travel experiences through smart, engaging videos. They collaborate with youtube creators to share travel knowledge, boasting a $1M Run Rate, 4M+ YouTube video views, and 50+ Creator partnerships.

The problem

Traveling can be challenging with many unknowns. While social media inspires people to travel, figuring out the logistics and making the most of the travel experience can be daunting.

Key REsults

Over the course of my time at Bright Trip, several significant achievements were made:

Product Overhaul: Working closely with the founders, we undertook a recalibration of the product's direction. This was informed by extensive user/market research to develop a new brand identity & product road map.

Comprehensive Redesign & Re-Launch: Executed a total site revamp. The relaunch spotlighted the refreshed brand identity and enhanced functionality, marking a pivotal evolution in Bright Trip’s product cyle.

Created Design System: Establishing a streamlined design process and ensured brand consistency across the user interface. This foundational work allowed for rapid creation of new features and updates.

Implemented Analytics Infrastructure: defining KPIs & developing comprehensive dashboards on Google Analytics & Mixpanel. Fostering data-driven approach to product &  kept all our team aligned with objectives and progress.

My Role

In my capacity as Head of Product at Bright Trip, I played a crucial role in steering our product strategy and execution. My responsibility was to align our product roadmap with our overarching business objectives, focusing on delivering value to our users while achieving our growth targets. Developing and maintaining a comprehensive design system was central to my role, ensuring consistency and scalability in our product's interface and user experience.

Leading user research initiatives allowed us to gain deep insights into our users' needs and preferences, directly informing our design and development decisions. Managing the development team, I focused on setting clear priorities, facilitating effective collaboration, and ensuring that our product development processes were efficient and aligned with our strategic goals.

Collaborating with the marketing and sales teams was also a key aspect of my role. Together, we worked to ensure that our product design and features resonated with our target audience, supported our marketing strategies, and drove user acquisition, engagement, and retention. This multi-disciplinary approach was instrumental in creating a product that not only met market needs but also contributed significantly to our business success.
